Single games vs combined bets
Anytime you put money on a sporting event, you don’t have to bet on just the winner or the loser. Bookies will allow you to make a bet on almost anything and the greater the odds against you, the bigger the pay out. Sports are extremely unpredictable and you never know what is going to happen. You can bet on an individual player’s performance or individual teams and whether or not they win or lose. Almost anything is up for grabs. |
One of the more interesting questions I have found is the comparison between single games vs. combined bets. A single game bet or a straight bet is when you place your money on an individual game, and whether your team wins or loses affects whether you collect money or not. It is very straight forward and is the most common betting practice around. Not only does it extend to games, but it works for golf as well. Golf has become a popular form of gambling and often players bet on each hole they play. Golfers find it adds to the adrenaline rush to an already fun sport for many. |

Combined bets or a parlay bet are a lot more risky, but the payout can be worth the chance. Combined bets are when you string together two or more individual bets and you need all of those bets to if you want to make money. If any of the individual games lose in the combined bets, then the whole bet is lost. Sometimes this can be difficult to understand, so here is an example: |
Jason places a three-team NBA combined bet on the Bulls, Celtics and Lakers. If any one of those teams does not cover the spread, Jason loses his combined bet. But if all three teams beat the spread, Jason gets paid $600 for every $100 he bet. Some people say if you are going to bet, bet big or go home. |
Single games vs. combined bets are like any other bet. It is a risk. They can be fun and exciting, but you need to be careful. If you know a lot about sports and follow the games closely, combined bets might be the way to go. If you are just beginning your gambling career single games are the route to go, until you are more aware of teams you are betting on. |

There are not any secrets when it comes to gambling, it is not something you necessarily get better at. It is not a skill; most of it comes down to luck. Some people have it and some people don’t. Remember there is no such thing as a “sure thing” and you have to be as smart as possible with each and every bet. |
